You might know FatPapas as that restaurant by local entertainer Sheikh Haikel or that place you go to when you crave some solid burgers and shakes.
Sadly, fans will have to bid the halal burger joint goodbye, as it seems to be making an exit very soon.
Operating until September 12
On September 6, FatPapas announced on a Facebook and Instagram post that they would be bidding goodbye to its first — and remaining — outlet in Bali Lane.
The outlet’s last day of operation will be on September 12, 2021, so fans still have less than a week for one last burger fix.
In the post, FatPapas encouraged diners to savour the remaining days by taking pictures and tagging them when they visit in the next few days.
While the reason of the closure was not specified, it was mentioned that “more exciting joints (are) to come.”
Background
FatPapas is one of the few halal eateries in Singapore specialising in burgers. More specifically, it was an offshoot of famed local burger joint FatBoy’s.
In 2017, FatPapas opened its first ever outlet in Bali Lane, and became an instant hit with specialty burgers like The Elvis (beef burger with bananas and peanut butter) and Wimpy (beef patties with fried egg, turkey bacon, melted cheese and BBQ sauce).

At the height of its popularity, FatPapas opened several other outlets in Joo Chiat, Century Square, NorthPoint City and Waterway Point. There was even a quick-serve outlet known as Lil’ Papas at Far East Plaza at one point.
They’ve all since closed down, with the original Bali Lane outlet left. At least for the next few days.
