Finally!

3 out of 5 Waker Chicken outlets islandwide are now halal-certified, as revealed by MUIS in their Instagram stories and on their website.

The remaining outlets are not officially halal-certified yet, but we reckon it’s only a matter of time before they get the certification too.

Waker Chicken is known for its signature Korean fried chicken, available in several portion sizes and flavours.

Here are the prices:

  • Original Crispy (S$13 for seven pieces, S$25 for 14 pieces)

Halal certification a priority

Shops claiming to serve “authentic” Korean fried chicken are a dime a dozen, but Waker Chicken is the real deal. According to an article in sethlui.com, the brand was brought into Singapore by two Koreans living in Singapore, Noh Tae Woo and Kim Jinho.

The brand is owned by Kim’s uncle in Korea who allowed his nephew to expand the brand here after hearing how he missed the taste and experience of authentic Korean fried chicken.

The Korean owners then roped in a third partner, Dan, a native Singaporean Muslim, into the business and have always strived to get halal certification for their outlets from the beginning.
