Those working around Chinatown might have heard of this gem of a place selling grilled skewers with fried noodles or rice under S$6.
Opened in October 2021, Jab’r Grill serves up a range of elevated hawker centre dishes at wallet-friendly prices from a stall in Maxwell Food Centre.
The menu is quite straightforward here: For S$5.50, customers get to pair their choice of base (e.g. Fried Bee Hoon) with a grilled skewer (e.g. Lemongrass Prawn).
Premium skewers cost an additional S$1.
Choice of Base:
- Fried Bee Hoon (White)
- Fried Kway Teow
- Fried Noodles/Mee Goreng
- Oriental Fried Rice
- Sambal Fried Rice
- Tea Rice
Choice of Skewers:
- 5-piece Coffee Rub Chicken
- Fiery Turmeric Chicken
- Lemongrass Prawn
- Teriyaki Shiitake Mushroom

On their All Day Breakfast menu are items like Nasi Lemak with Skewer (S$4.50), fried Banana Poppers (S$3 for 10pcs) and assorted Malay Kuih (S$2/packet) which are great for breakfast or tea time snacks.
Diners can also choose to have the quintessential Singaporean skewers a.k.a satay. A set of 10 sticks costs S$8 and you can choose from chicken, beef or mutton.
If you’re dropping by, bear in mind that the stall is located in the third aisle, nearest to the staircase near MND/URA building. Payment methods accepted are cash, PayNow and DBS Paylah.
