Bhai Sarbat opens a restaurant

Popular teh sarbat tarik Bhai Sarbat has opened a new restaurant at 73 Bussorah Street, taking over the ground floor unit below ladies-only hair salon, KARVA.

The restaurant is simply named Bhai Sarbat Restaurant. The original Bhai Sarbat Stall remains open at 21 Bussorah Street.

With dine-in now allowed to resume in Phase 2 amid the novel coronavirus pandemic and safe distancing requirements, the timing of the restaurant’s opening is just right.

The restaurant is significantly bigger than the stall and has more seats to accommodate dine-ins.

With the new restaurant, owner Mohammad Asgar seems to expand on familiar Indian cuisine. The menu features Indian staples such as dum briyani, korma, tikka, kebabs, butter chicken, and also Malay dishes like Nasi Goreng and Mee Rebus.

And in case you are wondering, yes the original stall’s drinks menu will also be offered: kopi, teh halia, teh masala, and of course the inimitable teh tarik itself.

Before Bhai Sarbat Restaurant, the shophouse unit housed tapas and pizza bar Bait.

In other news, popular beverages brand Broti just opened their flagship outlet, also within the Kampong Glam enclave.

Bhai Sarbat Restaurant is located at 73 Bussorah St.
