Creative western fusion stall The Halal Corner opens second outlet in Yishun

Most items under S$7.

New year, new makan places to check out, especially with the opening of The Halal Corner‘s latest outlet in Yishun!

Formerly known as Asyraf’s Halal Corner when it was operating from Shenton Way, the business has since rebranded to its current name and moved to Bedok in early 2020. The Yishun outlet is its second outlet.

Creative take on western fusion

The Halal Corner is popular for its affordably priced western fusion dishes. Well known for their best selling Mr John (a quirky nickname for their Roti John), The Halal Corner is no stranger to creative, out of the box flavours as they believe that western dishes do not just end at Fish N Chips and Chicken Chop.

Last year, The Halal Corner became instant media darlings when they launched their Carbonara Beef Steak Mr John, a Western take on a local classic featuring bite-sized beef cubes doused with homemade carbonara sauce and drizzled with chilli and cheese sauce in between two Roti John halves.

Other venerable mentions include the Cheesy Balado Beef Steak Pasta and Samyang Cheesy Chicken Pasta.

With super creative offerings, we won’t fault you if you think these dishes would come with restaurant price tags. Nothing on the menu is above S$7, with most items hovering around the S$6-S$6.50 range.

It is no surprise then that The Halal Corner is able to expand as it quickly as it does. With unconventional western fusion dishes and affordable prices, we imagine it will be a matter of time before we see The Halal Corner at every corner of every neighbourhood in Singapore.

DIY meals at the new outlet

Whilst most of the fan favourites, or THC All Stars as they are called, are available in the Yishun menu, customers are also able to build their own meal exclusively here.

The 3-step process includes choosing a base of pasta or rice, one main ingredient, and additional top-up ingredients.

How does Samyang Pasta + Sliced Beef Steak + Cheese sound? Or perhaps Lemak Chilli Padi Pasta + Chicken Chop + Egg is more your jam? The combinations are endless!
