New cafe opposite Sultan Mosque in plush royal blue and gold decor is your next go-to hangout spot

Stunning.
Bachelor Brothers al fresco dining

A new cafe has popped up (again) in the Kampong Gelam district. Called Bachelor Brothers, it is located right at the doorsteps of the Sultan Mosque, and has been gradually welcoming guests since December 2020.

If you still can’t figure out the cafe’s exact location, its conspicuous decor should be a helpful landmark.

Just seek out the shop’s grandiose facade decked in royal blue and gold; it’s certainly one of the more glaring shopfronts in the area.

Royal blue and gold aesthetic

Even before you enter Bachelor Brothers, you’ll be greeted with a visually pleasing al fresco dining area. The outdoor seating is made up of several high back birdcage chairs in gold frames and plush cushions in their signature royal blue and logo.

Even the front door ceiling is not spared from the Midas touch; an imposing gold chandelier adds charm (and lighting) to the outdoor space.

The beautiful exterior gives visitors a glimpse of how the rest of the space looks like. Venture inside and you’ll notice more hues of blue and gold fittings employed from floor to ceiling.

Needless to say, the cafe is a visual treat for the senses and we reckon it’s a nice spot for dates and tea breaks. Speaking of which, the cafe serves a variety of equally beautiful noms.

Cakes, gelato & other desserts

A cursory browse on Bachelor Brothers’ social media and we can see that they take their desserts very seriously.

Here are some of the artistic cakes we spotted:

Sweet-toothed customers will also be delighted by the cafe’s wide range of gelato, with flavours ranging from Pistachio, Taro and Sweet Caramel Popcorn.

Savouries

Bachelor Brothers isn’t just a dessert-only cafe though; they also serve quite an impressive selection of savoury items.

Western cuisine seems to be a primary focus here, so expect some hefty food options like these:
