Located at Downtown East in Pasir Ris is A Spoonful of Sugar, a shop offering a variety of ice-cream, waffles, milkshakes and churros.
If you think the name is familiar, that is because A Spoonful of Sugar used to be located at Changi Village before they moved in 2020.
20 flavours of ice-cream at any time
The shop may be called a Spoonful of Sugar, but they certainly don’t hold back at the number of ice-cream flavours.
At any one time, customers can choose from 20 flavours of ice-cream, all of which are created in-house.
Some premium and classic flavours you can find include Coconut Sorbet, Honey Horlicks, Snickers, Peanut Strawberry and Citrus Chocolate featuring chocolate mixed into an orange base.
A single scoop starts from S$3.50 while a double scoop starts from S$6.
To enjoy it in a cone or basket costs an additional S$1.
There’s also the option of having ice-cream with waffles served with a choice of sauce. Prices start from S$7.50 and choices of sauce include maple syrup, chocolate and caramel.
Otherwise, you can just get the waffles plain with sauce for just S$4.90.
Other items on the menu
If you’re seeking other types of desserts, A Spoonful of Sugar also offers churros from S$5.90 served with sauce, and ice-cream shakes from S$6.90.
There’s also a range of cup desserts on the menu which refers to on-the-go type of treats like Rootbeer Float (S$4.80), Lave Cake + Ice Cream (S$5.90) and Original Brownie + Ice Cream (S$7.50).
Interestingly, A Spoonful of Sugar is also a place where you can get cakes and macarons!
There’s the Lover’s Love , which is a Rose sponge cake with fresh lychee fruit bits and lychee cream filling, coated with fresh cream and garnished with white chocolate drip, rose petals and buds.
Or the Belgium Love.
How about Hojicha?!
Sliced cakes are available in-store for S$7.90 each, but you can also order whole cakes from S$32.90.
If you’re thinking of grabbing a gift on the way out, A Spoonful of Sugar serves a variety of macarons which you can get in a box of 6 for S$15.
Six flavours of macarons are available: Valrhona Chocolate, Raspberry, Lemon, Espresso, Vanilla and Cookies & Cream.
