People living in the north-eastern part of Singapore will be thrilled to know that a cafe in Hougang, Charlie’s, is now officially MUIS Halal-certified.

Charlie’s is an American casual dining restaurant tucked within the integrated mall connected to Hougang Rivercourt.
The restaurant recently informed The Halal Eater that it has obtained the Halal certification by MUIS, less than a year since its opening in July 2022.

The cafe serves a variety of classic Western dishes across categories like steaks, burgers, pizza and pasta.
The Mains are decently priced, with most items available under S$20.
Diners can also opt to make it a set meal with soup and iced tea/soft drink for an additional S$5.90.

Weekend brunch featuring buttermilk pancakes
On the weekends, Charlie’s serves a special menu of buttermilk pancakes between 10am – 3pm. We know it’s Ramadan now, but bookmark this spot for your next brunch date!
The buttermilk pancakes are available in both sweet and savoury versions, perfect for slow weekend midday grazing.
Sweet-toothed diners might favour the likes of the Chocolate Banana Buttermilk Pancakes (S$16.90) but we already know we’d prefer the hearty Big Country Breakfast (S$19.90) hands down.
