We can always trust Kampong Glam to bless us with new shops to visit, and this time, an artisanal bakery called The French American Bakery has landed along hip Haji Lane.
The pastry shop is run by chef Siti Aishah, and her husband Shidiq. Siti once worked for celebrity chef Justin Quek at Sky On 57 in Marina Bay Sands.
But first, here’s how the bakery shopfront looks like:
Inside, the bakery exudes an air of chic and elegance, almost like you’ve walked into a Parisian bakery.
On one side of the bakery is a long glass-covered pastry shelf where loaves and pastries sit on slatted wood. On the other side, floating shelves offer display space for decor and other products for sale.
It’s a takeaway shop, though — not a space where you can sit and hang with friends.
Baked goods and sweets
The bakery’s name might suggest the kind of baked goods you can expect to get here. Everything from croissants, danishes, baguettes to fruit tarts and loaf cakes are proudly served here.
